Copying the video to the clipboard

At the foot of the export window, beside Cancel, is Copy to clipboard.

It renders the video with the settings above it, and instead of asking you where to save it, puts the finished file on the clipboard. Switch to Slack, or a mail, or a chat window, and press Ctrl+V.

What it saves you

The usual loop is: choose a folder, invent a filename, find the folder again in a file picker, attach, and then remember to delete the file next month. This removes all of it.

Where the file actually is

It has to exist somewhere, so it is written to a temporary folder and that is what is on the clipboard. Which means two things.

If the thing you are pasting into is slow to upload, do not clear your temporary files in the middle of it.

And if the video is worth keeping, export it properly as well. A file in a temporary folder is a file Windows is entitled to delete.

What pastes where

Most chat and mail programs take a file from the clipboard as an attachment. Some web pages do not, and for those you still need a real file on disk.
