Reporting a problem
On this page
Support on the Studio's top bar opens a form. The same thing is on the recorder's settings menu and on the tray icon menu, as Report a problem.
What it sends
What you write, plus the exact version of the app, which commit it was built from, and the log of what the app has been doing. That saves a round of questions that would otherwise start with "which version are you on" and end three days later.
It does not send your recording, your project, or anything you captured.
Why it asks for an email address
Because a report we cannot answer helps nobody. This is the one place an address is needed. Registering when you first ran the app is never required and skipping it does not take anything away, but a problem report has to reach you somehow.
What to write
The three things that turn a report into a fix:
What you did, step by step, in enough detail that somebody else could do the same.
What you expected to happen.
What happened instead. The exact words of any message, if there was one.
"It does not work" cannot be investigated. "I pressed Export with a 9:16 canvas and a camera, and the camera was cut off at the top" can be fixed the same day.
If the app will not start at all
Then the form is not reachable either. Write to [email protected] and say what Windows version you are on.
