What leaves your computer

The short version: your recordings do not leave your computer, and there is nothing to switch off to make that true.

What never leaves

Recordings, camera files and projects. They are files in a folder you chose. There is no upload, no cloud rendering and no sync.

Audio for captions. Speech recognition runs on your own processor. This is the one people assume must be a cloud service, because in most products it is. It is not here.

What you clicked and typed. The companion file beside your recording stays beside your recording.

Usage data. The app has no analytics in it.

The connections it does make

Downloading a speech model, once, if you choose to generate captions with Whisper. It fetches one file from a fixed address and checks it against a known fingerprint. Skip captions and it never happens.

Registering, if you choose to. Your name and email, which you can skip and which is never required.

Sending a problem report, if you choose to. What you wrote, the version, and the log. Never your recording.

Three things, all of them things you started.

The formal version

The privacy policy is the document that binds us, and it says the same thing in the language a lawyer needs. If the app ever contradicts it, that is a bug worth reporting.
