While recording

F9 start and stop. F10 pause and carry on. Escape cancels a countdown before it reaches zero.

Both function keys work from any program, which is the point of them.

In the Studio

Space play and pause. Home back to the start.

S split the clip at the playhead. Ctrl+K does the same, if that is the one you know from elsewhere.

Delete or Backspace remove the selected clip and close the gap. Shift with either leaves the gap.

Z add a zoom clip at the playhead. T add an overlay at the playhead.

Ctrl+Z undo. Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z redo.

Ctrl+N new project. Ctrl+O open. Ctrl+S save. Ctrl+Shift+S save as. Ctrl+E export.

[ and ] set the start and the end of the caption you are editing to the playhead. They only do anything with the Captions tab open and a caption selected, so they cost nothing the rest of the time.

Escape stops a voiceover that is being recorded.

Ctrl+V pastes a picture from the clipboard into the background or an image overlay, when the panel for one of those is open.

Why S is not Ctrl+S

S on its own splits, and Ctrl+S saves. The Studio makes sure of that, because the timeline panel has the focus most of the time and the one key everybody presses out of habit is Ctrl+S. Getting the video cut in half instead of saved would be a memorable way to learn the difference.
