Exporting the camera separately
On this page
In the export window, with a project that has a camera, there is a Camera apart switch.
Off is the normal case: one file, with the camera in the corner exactly as you see it in the preview.
On gives you two files. The recording with no camera in it at all, and the camera on its own, at its own size, cropped the way you cropped it, with no sound.
What it is for
Someone else is finishing the video. An editor who wants to place the face themselves needs it as a separate layer, not baked into a corner.
A different layout per platform. One export, then the camera placed one way for the landscape cut and another for the vertical one, without re-rendering the screen each time.
Keeping the camera out of a version. Give the documentation team the clean screen recording and keep the version with your face for the social post.
What it costs
It renders the video twice, so it takes about twice as long. The note under the switch says so.
Not available for a GIF
A GIF is one file by definition, so the switch disappears when the format is GIF.
